If you start falling you can correct the situation by holding the left or right arrow key down, to fly to the nearest peg. Otherwise you'll fall down. Use the left and right arrow keys to swing, your space bar to detach yourself from the peg (and fall) and the Ctrl Key to skip pegs while you swing.
